Aston Martin DB11 2017 : The 12-cylinder DB9 Replacement

We all know that when it comes to cars, there are times that we must resist the new technological trends but instead, we must stick to the fundamentals especially when the car’s overall performance is the issue. This is what the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 had taught us.

Under the Hood

For the past few years, some manufacturers have started the ‘reduced cylinder count’ technology, which had immediately became a trend due to the fact that having the engine cylinders reduced results in lighter engine itself. However, in case of the 2017 Aston Martin DB11, they will still stick to the V-12 engine, unlike the other ones.

However, if you think that the company employs the same V-12 engine since year 2003, which are actually two Ford Duratec V-6 engines combined, you’re definitely wrong. The truth is, they will now use their own version of V-12, being a twin-turbocharged unit itself. This engine will contain a 5.2-liter tank which performs just like the former 5.9-liter engine. Additional features include an 8-speed ZF automatic just like it is in Vanquish. The only thing that makes the transmission different is that its power was automatically sent to the rear wheels by means of a torque-vectoring mechanism.
