South Western Railway Vacancies 2014

In Indian Railways recruitment takes board wise. Candidates belong to one board are not eligible to apply for jobs in the other board. All parts of India are divided or separated into different boards according to the IRCTC for convenience of administration, development, employment and other facilities.

Recently South Western Railway released a notification to fill 333 posts. Out of a total of 333 posts, 178 are Fitter posts, 15are Machinist posts, 20 are Turner Posts, 83 are Welder Posts, 24 are Electrician Posts and 13 are Red A/C Mechanic posts. The candidate’s age must be greater than 15 years and less than 24 years as on 11-04-2014 to become eligible. Age relaxation rules for SC/ ST/ OBs candidates apply according to the government norms. Candidates must pass matriculation or equivalent from a recognised board or university. He must also possess I.T.I. certificate affiliated to NCVT/ SCVT. (S)He must also have knowledge on relevant trade and should be recognised with the local employment exchange.

The selection process is really simple. Based on the marks obtained in the 10th and 10+2 examination the selection of candidates will take place. Candidates who are interested and eligible can send their applications. Candidates need to send the photostat copies of the required certificates like date of birth, educational/ technical qualifications and caste certificate along with two photographs (one on application and one on call letter) and two self signatured covers of size 11*5 with Rs 5/- postal stamp attached to them. Don’t forget to superscribe the application as “Application for engagement as Act-Apprentices (Ex-ITI) in Hubli Workshop 20, Training Notification No 01/2014” and send it by ordinary post. One needs to send the application to Office of the Workshop, Personnel Officer, Carriage Repair Workshop, South Western Railway, Gadag Road, Hubli 580020 (Karnataka). The last date to receive the application is 10-05-2014 by 17.00hrs.
