TANCET is the shorter form of TamilNadu Common Entrance Test. TANCET is for post graduation students where as TNEA is for B.E./B.Tech students. TANCET is considered as moderately tough exam and people not only from TamilNadu but also from other parts of India will also take this exam to get admission in Anna University and in several other post graduation colleges which are affiliated to the Anna University.
Getting an admission through TANCET is considered as prestigious and aspirants who studied really hard can only pass through TANCET with better ranks. The competition for TANCET is getting increased year by year and the number of NRI students is also constantly rising.
TANCET was conducted this year for MBA/MCA students and ME/M.Tech students separately. On March 22nd MBA and MCA students wrote the exam where as on March 23rd students who want to do M.E. or M.Tech wrote the exam. The results are yet to be announced and aspirants are expecting results to be declared in April 2014. Anna University is responsible for all the process starting from notification to delivering results for TANCET. Every year Anna University issues notification much later and this year all the process is getting over much early. Apart from the performance of the exam, age of the candidate (as per 10th class certificate) and the community to which (s)he belongs to also play a significant role in determining the final college of the aspirant.
Those who had written the exam well are expecting the results very much in advance. Results will be first declared through online and then the successful candidates will get mark sheet by post. This process will get completed by mid May and the admission process will start thereafter. The results of TANCET for MBA/MCA students and ME/M.Tech students will be declared on the same day.
