Even for a small government job also, the competition is very high and even for the small posts like police constable also people who had completed their post-graduation are applying. This is the case with almost all the government jobs in India. TamilNadu is no exemption to this and in TamilNadu also competition for any government job is very high. TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) is a TamilNadu state body which is responsible for filling most of the government jobs under the TamilNadu government. It is responsible for filling posts of Group 4 (Peons, clerks etc.) to Group 1 officers (Sub-Collectors, DSP’s etc).
Recently the TNPSC gave notification to fill for 2342 vacancies of VAO posts and interested candidates can apply to it. This is one of the most awaited notification as several candidates are preparing exclusively for this exam from years. The examination syllabus consists of general knowledge, history and geography of TamilNadu, Constitution of India and Political and economical issues of basic standard. All the questions in the exam test the basic knowledge of the candidate and one need to score a minimum of 90% marks to ensure a job as the competition is very high.
The minimum qualification to apply for the VAO post is 10th class from any recognised board. One needs to pay 150INR as application fee and reserved candidates need to pay a nominal fee of 50INR. The candidate must have attained 21 years of age and should not cross 30 years as on 1/7/2014. With a pay scale of 5200 to 20200, it is a secured job with additional grade pay of INR 2400. One need to go through the written exam and/or interview and the final list of selected candidates will be announced by the TNPSC once the examination process gets completed. Last date to apply for the exam is 15/4/2014 and the last date to pay the fee is 17/4/2014. VAO exam will commence on 14/06/2014. One can easily pass this exam even if he/she works really hard for these two months also.
