Kate Winslet is an Hollywood famous actress. She is the one who played the female lead character in the film “Titanic”.
She started her acting career in television by acting in BBC Children’s science fictional serial “Dark Season”. After that she appeared in several other TV serials till 1992. She attended her first casting call in 1992 and then onwards she never looked back. Till 1996, she had appeared in several note worthy films and received several awards but 1996 was the year that changed her career. After initial inhibitions, James Cameron casted her in the title role of the “Titanic (1997)’’ Against expectations, it grossed more than $1.843 billion ($2.8 billion) in box-office receipts worldwide (the film went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time till Avatar got released) and transformed Winslet into a commercial movie star. Subsequently, she was nominated for most of the high-profile awards, winning a European Film Award.
