Being one of the fourth-generation descendants of a family of actors, actresses and film directors, Ranbir Kapoor was born to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh on September 28, 1982. Also being the grandson of actor-director Raj Kapoor, Ranbir had pursued method-acting and film-making at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. He had made his first debut film, Saawariya (2007) that even though the film didn’t gross high film sales, Ranbir was still able to earn his first Filmfare Award, the Best Male Debut. During his outstanding performances in Wake up Sid, Ajam Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year last 2009; he had received his Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. On the other hand, he had managed to win two consecutive Best Actor awards at Filmfare as a troubled musician in the drama film Rockstar (2011) and as a deaf-mute man in the comedy-drama film Barfi! (2012).
However, he had received his highest success so far due to his starring role in the romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), being one of the highest-grossing Bollywood Films, therefore making and establishing him as one of the leading Bollywood Actors of this present age.
Being the co-founder of the Picture Shuru Productions, a production company and a co-owner of the Indian Super League Mumbai City FC, he also supports various charity institutions and causes aside from acting.
