Busy roads of India and ever increasing fuel rates motivated Maruti to launch a compact and fuel efficient car. The new Maruti Celerio is fun to drive car and is loaded with features. With stylish exteriors and spacious interiors with a large boot, Celerio will deliver a fuel mileage of 23.1 km per litre. The car is lunched in LXi, VXi, and ZXi tri levels and is available in six variants-four with Manual transmission and two containing Auto Gear Shift. Besides, Auto Gear seems to be used for the first time by Maruti Suzuki in Celerio in India amongst passengers’ cars. (low budget cars)
Maruti Celerio is said to be replacement of Maruti A-Star and is designed from a scratch to give Indian market a premium car. The Car carries 1-litre petrol engine same as in Maruti Wagon R with 67 BHP of Power at 6000 RPM and 89 Nm of peak torque at 3500 RPM. Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel model is under development and testing stage and is expected to be in market by the end of 2014. The diesel engine will carry a 2 cylinder 800CC unit which is a turbocharged petrol engine of small size and can soon appear in cars such as Wagon R in future.
Celerio is easy to maneuver and its suspension is on the softer side therefore you get a comfortable ride but Maruti has kept design in such a manner that you don’t feel shaky at high speeds. Steering is light weight and carries a tight turning radius. General specifications include McPherson strut with coil spring front suspension while back suspension carries torsion beam axle with coil spring. Other than this disc front brakes and drum rear brakes with electronic power steering make the ride much more joyous on Celerio.
The Celerio car is based on A Wind Concept and what is most interesting is that the folks can manually change the gears by slotting into Manual option or pulling the lever to go up the gears or by pushing it back. The car will be available in variants of Sunshine Ray (Yellow), Cerulean Blue, Cave Black, Blazing Red, Pearl Arctic White, Glistening Grey, Silky Silver and carries a price tag varying from Rs. 3.90 Lakh to Rs. 4.96 Lakh.(Ex Delhi)
