Kodak PIXPRO SL25 Review, Price and Availability

Kodak has been popularized by immortalizing picture-perfect moments.  Through the years, the company has not only fortified their product and services but also ventured expansion in more modern devices.  This has been evident through PIXPRO SL25, an innovative, attachable smartphone lens. Not that Kodak has been the original one for this device, as Sony was the first with its Cyber-shot DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100, but as credit Kodak has followed this feat very closely.

With mere photos, one may be tricked into concluding that PIXPRO SL25 is a new camera device. Looking closely, however, you can see that it’s an attachable companion to a smartphone.  To make things work for the lens, all you have to do is download Kodak Pixpro application right to your device.  The lens works with iPhones, iPod and iPads having at least iOS 6.  It is also compatible with Android handsets and tablets with versions 2.3 and 3.0 respectively.

Pixpro SL25 lens capacitates 25x zoom (with 16MP, 1/2.3” BSI CMOS sensor) and has been given a durable plastic casing.  Despite the intimidating looks, it merely weighs 210g. Power, zoom toggle and shutter key buttons neatly surround its body at mid-portion.  Meanwhile, the battery, microSD port and card slot are also orderly placed just behind the plastic case.

Even though SL25 works most of the time as a device companion, it is also capable of working on its own albeit the certain limits.  It can capture shots but video shooting is disabled.

Pixpro SL25 is out in the markets at the price of $300.
