Kyocera Hydro Wave

Kyocera Hydro Wave : Dust, Water and Shock Resistant Smartphone for $150

Kyocera Hydro Wave, also known as Kyocera C6740 holds three attributes every smartphone should have: dustproof, waterproof and shockproof.  Kudos to the Japanese device maker that endowed Hydro Wave these said characteristics even at an entry price of $150.

What We Consider Great

Who doesn’t want a smartphone that is resistant to elements such as dust, water and shock?  Admittedly, we adore Hydro Wave by these three characteristics.  While there may be several much better bargains—specs-wise—for one hundred fifty bucks, we will still put this smartphone at the top of them.

What We Consider Unsatisfactory

There are only two things that made us clutch our chests about this device: 1GB of RAM and the 2300 mAh irreplaceable juicer.  The rest of the specifications… well, we can really tolerate and even like them. Guess, they were overshadowed by the military specification ratings of IP57 and 810G.

Conclusion

So you have your high-performance digital assistant but this one’s definitely recommended for a backup.  If anything else, this can be your main player, too.  Grab one or two (maybe the other as a gift?) at T-mobile which you can pay one unit for a single time $150.  You may also consider their $6.25 per month contract as another option.  Expect Hydro Wave to roll in MetroPCS on July 27.
