You may not have heard about the Chinese mobile producer, Zuk until today. But you must have certainly heard of its big-time backer, Lenovo. If you are a certified Lenovo aficionado, you may be interested in Zuk’s announcement about their upcoming smartphone, the Zuk Z1. Mark August 8 on your calendar, folks, for this is the special day for the much anticipated smartphone from Zuk. That was their announcement today in their Weibo page.
Albeit it’s a little bit tiny to be considered as one of the highlights, but the presence of Jingdong logo is also apparent in the poster of Zuk. Surmise to say, we will expect e-commerce giant Jingdong as a vital player upon Zuk Z1’s release to the market.
Meanwhile, Z1 is expected to go directly against the soon-to-be released flagship of OnePlus. Many may dismiss Zuk’s endeavour to be a passionate fire of neophytes, but that is not to be the case. We must point out that Zuk has committed a hefty $409 million on the venture alone. Plus they have Lenovo as their gigantic backer together with the Chinese software titan, Qihoo 360. Big names such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, Huawei, Vivo and Meizu must get ready for another serious competitor here.
Z1 may also appeal to those who want a smartphone with an Android service without Google’s meddling interference. This is due to the fact that Z1 is employed with Cyanogen OS. It will be available in two colors—the generic black and white and will be priced at around $320- $369. Anyway, let’s wait for the finalization of details on August.
