LG G Watch R – Price, Specs, Review

The LG G Watch R lands a no.2 spot in one of the best Android wear smartwatches listed by pocket-lint.com.  6 months old and still clinging to its throne, the wearable was observed having its graceful exit from the glass shelves of most of the retail stores selling it.

Just in Google Store where it had its kickstart, you can see the “This product is available in your country” sign.  On LG’s UK product page, you can also note the “Discontinued” label against the wearable.  In AT&T’s online store, the timepiece is offered for $99, a $200, or—if you’re lucky enough—67% discount from its original price.

When LG was asked about this matter, the manufacturer replied that LG G Watch R falls under ‘existing inventory pushing to sold off’ sales category.  In short, there’ll be no more production for our favoritesmartwatch.  How about the remaining unsold timepieces?  Of course, interested consumers will have to be patient enough to vie for a good bargain.

For those who are interested about LG G Watch R, it features a 1.3 inch, round P-OLED display with 320 x 320 pixels resolution.  It’s a perfect mixture of classic and futuristic components, exhibiting both elegance and function in one compact piece.  It is IP67-certified which simply means that it can be immersed in up to 3.2ft of water within half an hour and bears no damage.

Running inside is a Snapdragon 400 processor and half gigabyte of RAM.  Native storage capacitates 4GB and the tiny piece still has room for a 410mAh battery.

Despite its obvious exit, the watch is still undergoing process of upgrade into Android Wear 5.1.1 plus Wi-Fi connectivity.
