Moto G: The most Affordable Android Smartphone launched by Motorola

General:

Moto G by Motorola aims to target the market of smartphones who want a number of features at reasonable prices. For those who can’t afford to spend thousands on smartphones can go for Moto G as this is quite a cheap device as compared to others. Moreover Google’s plan of creating distinctive devices according to different markets also seems behind the launch of Moto G in India.

Look and Feel:

Moto G comes in a novel packaging and is undoubtedly a candybar phone. Though the design is very basic but looks modern. Moto G’s front panel carries a 4.5-inch screen and also features a black strip of glass which separates plastic front and rear panels. The nano-coating on Moto G makes its light water repellent. Other than this the curve rear panel makes it comfortable to hold in hands. Overall, Motorola Moto G carries a solid build and does not display plasticity.

Screen:

The highlight of Moto G is its distinctive 4.5 inch 720*1280-pixel IPS LCD display which comes with a density of 329 pixels per inch. Motorola uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to save it from scratches. The screen is bright and colors look utterly vibrant. Even the screen is not very reflective in sunlight and viewing through angles is also not a problem. Further, the 4.5-inch screen display is apt for video playback and gaming activities. Besides, the text is crisp and clear on Moto G.

Camera:

Moto G carries a 5-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and also supports a 1.3 megapixel front camera. If compared to price, one cannot ask for more. The photos delivered are good either in full daylight outdoors or indoors though the photos clicked in artificial light is not really inspiring. Motorola’s Moto G contains a circular control bar which pops out left from screen when tapped. Other features include 4X digital zoom, slow motion video, burst mode, auto HDR mode, Panorama and tap to focus.

Software/Interface:

Moto G by Motorola runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the most updated smartphone offering an amazing Android experience. More flat designs, much vibrant colors in status icons, enhanced transparency and smooth interface and transitions are what make Moto G an irresistible device. Further Moto G offers five mindboggling customizable homescreens and a spectrum of widgets and apps. Another feature is its outstanding voice guided search feature.

Battery Life:

Moto G contains 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 graphics and 1 GB of RAM onboard. The phone is available in two storage capacities: 8GB and 16 GB but the bad news is that it cannot support expandable storage which is definitely a loophole cannot be overlooked.

Conclusion:

What makes Moto G undeniable irresistible is its latest version of Android that too on a small device carrying the lowest price tag. Moto G stands apart from the crowd when it comes to widgets and apps and its overall navigation interface but yes its non-expandable storage and weak camera performance are definitely matters of concern. Overall Moto G is not at all a bad bargain for its affordable price.
