The alleged information about the fingerprint sensor and bezel-less design for Oppo’sR7 Plus has been corroborated by a tip about the test result from GFXBench benchmark. Yes, the larger version of R7 has the finger print scanner just round the back of the device and the edge-to-edge screen display graces its façade. We are talking about a premium quality handset here coming from one of the fast rising Chinese mobile makers.
R7 Plus also gets a metal unibody with a 5.9 inch, 2.5D glass front display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Underneath the premium exterior comes a chipset of equal A-class quality: a 64-bit ‘true’ 8-core MediaTek MT6795 with processors clocking at 1.9GHz. Meaning, each independent core runs the most demanding of applications smoothly and effortlessly. Accompanied by 3GB of RAM and the latest Google Lollipop, it exhibits a performance like no other. Native storage capacitates 32GB with 6GB of it allotted for system utilization.
Unfortunately, we’re left in the dark about the camera sensors. There’s a great debate if the R7 Plus is endowed with a tandem of 7MP cameras for both front and rear; or an impressive 20.7MP sensor for primary camera as another option. Until R7 and R’s big day on May 20, there’s no way of confirming unless, there’s another case of info leakage.
On the other hand, the lesser of the power duo, the R7, is seen having a 5.2-inch display screen of the same 2.5D glass and unibody framework. In contrast with its Plus sibling, Oppo rendered the lesser one with Qualcomm’s 64-bit Octacore Snapdragon 615 chipset. Internal storage is a mere 16GB but RAM is the same 3GB just like R7 Plus. At roughly $480, you can already benefit from the premium performance of R7.
Both is said to have the VOCC flash charging technology that could charge the phones up to 75% within a mere span of 30 minutes. Major specs seen, both can be concluded as power phones akin to the likes of iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models with price much more affordable. We don’t have any inkling about R7 Plus’ price yet, but it could be not too far from its siblings price tag.
