On February 24 this year, the world’s tallest Nishan Sahib, the Sikh’s triangular and symbolic flag, is erected at Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Bulandpuri Sahib, which was formerly known as Nawan Nanaksar Thath, Bulandpuri Sahib. To those who didn’t know, the name of the mentioned place is somehow changed just last year. And as of this year, the Nishan Sahib was erected in order to symbolize unity of God’s Children. Aside from that fact, the Nishan Sahib’s awesome height and engineering also serves as a beacon or landmark to Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji itself. In addition to all of these, it also symbolizes Guru Granth Sahib’s blessing to the Sikh nation as well as to serve all humanity.
The Nishan Sahib itself is not just designed and built just like the others. The truth is, it was planned and engineered in the Sikh Nation’s branch in Canada. Aside from that fact, its materials are manufactured in China before being brought and assembled in Punjab, where we see it standing straight as of now.
And in order to commemorate this event, it is very noticeable that all prominent Sikh personalities are there to pray and give thanks while the Nishan Sahib is being erected. Right after it was secured in place, rose petals and blessings are then scattered around it, along with Sikh Nation’s prayer. Surely, this is a great achievement and blessing for all Sikh Nation not only in Punjab or India, but Sikh Branches on the other countries as well.
