Audi’s 2016 TT Roadster model may not successfully dominated the top of the sports car segment. But don’t get easily prejudiced with this one for it is Audi after all! With the price tag starting at $47,325, you get a much better bargain than what those digits can ever convey.
Retaining the Basics
The basics of the previous generations have been passed to 2016 TT Roadster: same old chic style, top down coupe. It’s a certified roadster that can speed up for up to 31 mph in mere seconds. The classic combination of low seating position and high belt line also defines comfort while traveling with the roof down. Last year’s 2.0L 4-cylinder has been retained but Audi rendered it lighter and the engine structuring has been redone.
R8 Influence
Up front you can definitely notice the influence of its R8 kin—LED matrix lamps, trapezoid-shaped grille and the newly incorporated hood creasing.
What’s New?
If you’re thinking that there’s nothing new about TT Roadster, then reconsider. It’s not just something that has been incorporated with borrowed components from its predecessors and R8. The cabin layout sports a cool dashboard design that highlights the infotainment screen and center stack. Audi made sure that the infotainment controls and everything related to interface are moved literally in front of the driver (no sharing with the passenger!). Audi’s very own 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit display, voice controls, MMI Touch scratch pad and steering wheel toggles are stocked at the center console; while the climate control settings are put at the mid section of the round-shaped vents.
