Looking at the appearance of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 (C7), one can easily remark that it’s something ‘modern’ and ‘totally impressive.’ Why, the sleek package with its elongated front hood can even make you remember Batman’s car. Nonetheless, we must remind you that it simply isn’t. While the C7 is certifiably impressive to drive as raved by its owners, it surely doesn’t have the Dark Knight’s vehicle technology… so no competition, okay?
The Head-turner
Moving on though, we must point out the good points of the C7, being the base price of $57k as the first. The base model has a robust aluminum space frame and the lightweight—yeah, Batman—style for the body that can easily make heads turn your way as you zoom around the metro.
If you’re one for appearance you should know that the contrasting black wheels are available for $495 and the carbon flash exterior accents for $100.
Interior
Compared to its predecessor, C7 now has greatly improved when it comes to its cabin. Having a couple of grand ($4210) to spare will bring you to a whole new level of experience. We are talking about the mid-level 2LT equipment group which adds heated and ventilated seats, colored head-up display and many other features. You may also choose to have the carbon-fiber interior trim for $995 and Chevrolet’s very own MyLink navigation system for $795.
Under the Hood
General Motors incorporated a new aluminum block, LT1 V8 engine for C7 together with the standard 7-speed manual transmission. To have that livelier revolutionary noise, a performance exhaust by $1195 is most welcome. The engine can easily produce the 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet torque.
It’s also a big thanks to the 7-speed manual gearbox that C7 is noted for fuel efficiency. It can eat up 17 miles per gallon within city bounds and 29 miles per gallon on highways.
