It was reported that the upcoming 2017 Lincoln MKZ sports a brand new comprehensive design language, upgrades, intuitive technology and powerful engine. Set to go on sale in spring of 2016, the entry with the price tag starting at $36,085.
Exterior and Interior
The luxury sedan received a fresh modern look complete with a mesh grille from the Continental concept. Lincoln endowed it with the trendy LED adaptive headlamps to adorn (and function) at the front end fascia. According to the beholders, this design is very close to those of Kia and Jaguar.
Now, the buttons and knobs come as the star in the upgrade of the interior. Physical controls for the audio and climate systems were placed instead of the previous touch-sensitive sliders and buttons. These go closely with the newly installed Sync 3 interface.
Powertrain and Safety Features
MKZ is available in all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive flavors. The AWD variant gets the 3.0L twin-turbocharged V-6 as engine that is capable of generating 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile the FWD variant shares the same engine but can only summon 350hp with the same digits for torque. Other than the aforementioned two flavors, Lincoln’s clientele may opt for the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder trim or the hybrid powertrain.
For safety and driver assistance, MKZ has the standard cruise control system and Pre-Collision Assist. The former enables the driver to deal with the stop-and-go traffic and can hold the sedan in place even as the driver does not hold the brake pedal.
