The AMG division of Mercedes Benz has yet released another high-end performing siren, the Mercedes-AMG GT S. It uses the SLS platform while the maker preserved the classic design from its forerunner—elongated hood and stiff angle at the rear side of the roadster. Outside, you can easily dismiss AMG GT as something diminutive, but the interior spacing says otherwise. A six-footer can be tucked smoothly and comfortably on the driver’s seat.
Exterior and Interior
AMG GT’s fascia got a mean-looking streak with its slanted headlights. Exposed just at the center of the bumper is the proudly captivating Mercedes-Benz logo in smooth metal trim. It is also bigger compared to its direct competitor, the Porsche 911.
Taking a look inside the compartment, there’s nothing but pure luxury and technology beginning from the dashboard, center console, function buttons and touchscreen infotainment system. Lines and stitches are perfected that you can weep with the discreet but impactful exhibition of luxury and class from the materials to the craft bestowed for this wonderful siren.
Engine, Transmission and Price
A 4.0L turbocharged V8 engine makes this siren roar into life. Coupled with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, and AMG GT comes to blazing speed of 503 horse power and 479 lb.-ft. of torque. Even greater, the German carmaker claims that this is the first engine accompanied by inboard mounted turbochargers and dry sump lubrication. The product: a reduced turbo lag and wise engine packaging space.
