German carmaker Mercedes-Benz had slid off the curtains to reveal their latest offer to their ‘friends,’ the 2017 S-Class Cabriolet. Despite the variation of names for MB S550 and M-AMG S63, the two top-downs exhibit the spirit and essence of a true German vehicle. Ultimately the two cabriolets are a source of pride for Mercedes Benz.
Speaking of pride, it seems that MB presently realizes their vision and aim in directly attacking the opponents with the posh and grace of their S-class portfolio beginning with S550 and AMG S63. However, things are not exactly how they wanted it to be because of Audi A8’s presence. Just for starters, the said car has more affordable base price of $78,325.

Anyway, let us focus on the efforts of the German legend. True to its word, the company made great efforts in re-engineering the underside of Cabriolet. Installed for framework are aluminum longitudinal rails in place of the steel units. Even the rear portion of the floor is made in aluminum while the rear bulkhead is a perfect conglomeration of the said metal and magnesium. Impressively, the body shell weighs just the same as the coupe’s fixed-roof variant.

So these two cabriolets are drop-down wonders that can raise and lower the three-layered fabric in mere 20 seconds—amazing feat as noted. Mercedes even claims that even when the roof is raised, the cabin noise is suppressed. Clients will be delighted to know that the cover will be available in different colors and varying shades: black, dark blue, beige and dark red.
For temperature, a special climate control system has been furnished together with Airscarf neck warmer and Aircap wind baffle. There’s no need for you to worry even if the top has been opened.
