While some of the car manufacturers suffer downward trajectory of their sales, Mercedez Benz, India is celebrating as they marked 2014 their year of distinction and excellence when they successfully boosted 25% sales growth only on their first semester. This is a big thanks to their New Generation Car (NGC) portfolio that includes the sensational Class- A and Class-B ‘Edition 1.’
These two debutantes caught the attention and fascinated the younger generation of Indians as they take their promise of comfort and style into reality.
Design and Interior
The similarities between the Classes A and B are minimal at first glance, though observing on a closer look, one would notice that B is somewhat hyperbolized but without the van-like built. With the tilt-back roof, protracted hood and the beaming Mercedes logo in front, it projects the sleek elegance of practical sexiness that men love and girls adore. One will never get lost with the stylish yet stern looking projector headlights and daytime running lights that even the police would check out.
The class B completes its profile with the high quality gloss of the exterior mirrors and signature label moniker in sable matte on the side edge. It has a simple rear with some chrome highlights. You can truly enjoy your ride through the benefit of the sporty sunroof and those 16 inch alloy of hot wheels. Also, its Jupiter Red color adds fierceness and competitive aura.
Class B’s interior will leave you more breathless with its purely black dashboard, elegant (but artificial) wood panel and a ready infotainment screen powered by COMAND interface that leaves you basking between a comfort-design and modern techno. You can maneuver most functions through control pads together with the directions on the information cluster.
Some accessories such as reverse camera and rear center armrest (with cup holders) are added for more comfort, that with the automatically adjustable front passenger seat and two separate entertainment units for the profit of the back passengers (a three-seater) . We won’t want to leave them alone, will we?
You shouldn’t expect everything to be excellent, though. The speed of this debutante isn’t altogether exceptional as its power comes only from a 2.2 Liter bloc fuel source which produces 107 bhp and 250 nm pull. However, the driver can choose between 3 driving modes: Sports, economy and manual for a more engaging drive.
Mercedez perfectly ensures the safety of its clients with the B’s seven air bags with an addition of a knee airbag. It has a built in Electronic Stability Program to avoid deployment during such tricky situations. In addition to the airbags and ESP, they equipped the B with Attention Assist, ABS with Brake Assist, Acceleration Skid Control (ASR), Hill Start Assist with HOLD function and a tire pressure loss warning indicator to safety everyone aboard.
With all the B Class’s style catering for the younger Indian generation, it is highly recommended for family use as well. It offers comfortable space for at least a family of five and comfort with entertainment, not even mentioning the safety and economy benefits. Hence, Class B accommodates different lifestyles and handles them with grace and style.
