The years 2015 and 2016 are promising ones—even huge–for the compact segment MPVs at least in Indian automobile markets. MPVs (or Multi-Purpose Vehicle), popularly known as “reasonably priced family cars” make their ways to the hearts of the practical crowds who also value quality. This article is dedicated for these people who would want to know about the most anticipated compact MPVs for 2015 to 2016. However, note that they are not lined up for ranking.
- Renault Lodgy MPV : Renault will be the first to launch its compact MPV. With the released photo of the French car, launching it is not quite far off. It will debut by the first semester of 2015 after the revamping Renault’s Indian branch. Significant enhancements for the Lodgy are the 1.5L diesel engine (enabling 85bhp at 200Nm) and interior features from its sister, Duster.

- Hyundai Grand i10 Compact MPV : Hyundai has wide array of models to be released this coming year and in 2016. One of the rumored models to vroom into the markets early in 2016 is the i10-based compact MPV, Hyundai Grand i10. Unfortunately, the car manufacturer did not confirm anything yet but it has been reported that Grand i10 is under progressive stages as of now. Xcent’s 1.2L Kappa2 pertrol and 1.1LCRDi diesel engines are said to power Grand i10 compact MPV. But then, again, Hyundai might consider the use of i20’s 1.4L CRDi diesel engine.

- Tata’s Compact MPV :Tata Motors has lined up a quite impressive array of vehicles from hatchbacks, sedans, sub-compact sedans to SUVs for 2015. But by 2016, the vehicle manufacturer will be releasing its editions of compact SUVs and MPVs which will share Vista X1’s manifesto and Zest’s (or Bolt’s) engine technology plus some innovative features. Nothing much is stated for these projects but they are expected to be displayed by the first semester of the year 2016.
